JAMIE MARTIN
Aug. 5, 1975-June 25, 2006
James "Jamie" Isaac Martin, age 31, of Grantham, departed this earthly life on Sunday afternoon, June 25, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident near Newton Grove.
Jamie was born on August 5, 1974, in Wayne County to Deborah M. Martin and the late Walter A. Martin. He was a 1993 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and was employed by Classic Landscape and Design. Jamie was a member of Riverside Free Will Baptist Church in Princeton. He had a great love for rebuilding and racing four-wheelers. His greatest love was for his wife and two children, whom he spent much of his time with. Jamie never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. His favorite saying was "I love life!" He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Debbie, he is survived by the love of his life, Sherry Bell Martin; his two children, Skylar James Martin and Marissa Louise Martin, both of the home; his brother, Anthony Martin and his wife, Rhonda, of Goldsboro; his mother and father-in-law, Debbie and Ron Berry of Goldsboro and Gary and Debbie Bell of Stantonsburg; his aunts and uncles, Billy and Kay Martin of Clinton, Gary and Debbie Martin of Atkinson, Larry and Sandy Martin of Grantham, George Frank Martin of Elizabethan, Judy and Terry Tucker of Grantham, Janie Fitzgerald of Raleigh, Frank and Sharon Bradshaw of Turkey; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his "Pals."
Jamie was the grandson of Edna H. Martin of Clinton and the late George B. Martin and the late James R. and Rose Mozingo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Reverend Dennis Pollock and Reverend James Corbett will officiate. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. Pall Bearers will be Jeff Walters, Larry Lane, Michael Johnson, Ricky McCullen, Gary Bell Jr., Adam Martin, David Wise, Spence Powell and Todd Harrell.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, and other times at the home of his mother, Debbie Martin, 104 Rhonda Place in Goldsboro.
