BEULAH PARRISH

SELMA -- Beulah Williams Parrish, 84, died Wednesday at Johnston Memorial Hospital
Born in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Tommy and Pearl Bass Williams. She graduated from Goldsboro High School and attended business school in Charlotte and moved back to Goldsboro upon graduation. She worked at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base until the end of World War II, at which time she went to work with the Atlas Plywood Company. She married Hayden Parrish on December 14, 1947 and they moved to Johnston County and started a family. After the children started school, Mrs. Parrish went to work as a teacher's aide with the kindergarten at Micro for eight years and then Pine Level for 13 years. She was a member of the Parrish Memorial Baptist Church, where she was active with the WMU.
The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Parrish Memorial Church, with the Rev. Harold Medlin and the Rev. Blake Stallings officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter Debra Parrish, and one son, Keith Parrish, both of the home, and one brother, Elbert Nichols of Newport News, Va..
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
