J. EVERETT PARRISH

SELMA -- The funeral for J. Everett Parrish, 81, of Oak Grove Inn Road, was held today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The Rev. Braxton Creech and the Rev. Thomas Ward officiated. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery.
Mr. Parrish died Tuesday at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
A Wilson County native, he was the son of the late Jesse and Peatie Tedder Parrish and the widower of Pauline Smith Parrish. He retired from Eaton Corporation and was a charter member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon and church treasurer. He was also a charter member of the North Johnston Panther Booster Club.
He is survived by one son, Dr. Dicky Parrish of Selma; daughters, Sharon Creech of Micro and Donna Holloman of Pine Level; sisters, Helen Hamm and Eva Rice of Lucama and Mildred Smith of Smithfield; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family received friends on Thursday night from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
