DORCAS MELTON
June 18, 1934-April 9, 2006
Dorcas Besch Melton, 71, of 601 Rouse St., died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Stocks officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Melton was born in Redbluff, Calif., and was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruth Besch. She was a homemaker and had worked for James Crone, CPA, for 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Norman "Candy Man" Melton; daughters, Pam Brown and husband Tom of Oklahoma, Terrie Holmes and husband Keith of Pikeville, Kim Rioux and husband John of Connecticut, Cheri Melton of Pikeville, and Anjie Hare and husband Billy of Surf City; son, Norman Melton Jr.; sisters, Irene Nasworth of Florida and Evelyn Smith of Maine; 10 grandchildren, Machelle Metheny, Elizabeth Mitchell, Rachael Taylor, Dawne Simpson, Arthur Callis, Cindy Terpe, Nicholas Hare, Connor Hare, Nichole Hare, and Billy Hare III; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by two infant sons, Michael Wayne and Keith Russell Melton
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
