SNOW HILL-- Walter Richard "Ricky" Harrell died unexpectedly on Tuesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery, with Jody Tyson officiating.
Mr. Harrell was a native of Greene County and a graduate of Snow Hill High School. He retired with 25 years of service as office manager and dispatcher with Pitt County Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie William and Ruby Speight Harrell, and is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Bizzell Harrell and two sisters, Lou Ellen Galloway of Wilson and Sue Bass of Kenly;
The body will lie in state this afternoon at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
Relatives and friends may call at the home of Joyce Harrell, 1754 N.C. 258 North, Snow Hill, except on Thursday.
