VICKIE McHARNESS

Veronica Anne "Vickie" Murray McHarness, 71, of 309 N. Jefferson St., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park
Mrs. McHarness was born in England and was the daughter of the late Edward Murray and Vera Leech and the widow of Leroy Dean McHarness. She retired as a nurses' aide at Wayne Memorial Hospital and continued to serve there as a volunteer. She was also active in the Disabled American Veterans, the Senior Center and the British Wives Club.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Andre McHarness of Goldsboro and Calvin D. McHarness and wife Cynde of Alamogordo, New Mexico; four sisters, Mary Shaw, Eileen McMahon, Shiela Carter, and Terasa Metson of England; one brother, Anthony Murray of England; and one grandson, Moone Dean McHarness.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Murray.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
