WARSAW --The funeral for Johnie Hand, 90, of 209 Bartlett Road, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bowdens with the Rev. Harold Boykins officiating. Burial will be in Bowdens Cemetery.
Mr. Hand died Tuesday at his home.
He was the son of the late Adrian and Jessie Chasten Hand and was a retired civil service employee.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Hand of the home; one son, James Earl Hand of Warsaw; daughters, Virginia Vann and Jessie Ladson of Bay Shore, NY, Bessie Hand, Betty Lowe and Brookie Moore of Warsaw and Denise Jefferson; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
An inspirational wake will be held at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday.
