PINK HILL -- Mabel Kennedy Sumner, 75, died Saturday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held tonight in the chapel of Community Funeral Home in Beulaville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Sandy Plain Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Beulaville.
Mrs. Sumner is survived by three daughters, Jenell Thompson and Norma Teachey of Pink Hill and Maxine Hudson of Jacksonville; two sons, Eric Sumner and Jeffrey Sumner of Pink Hill; one brother Harold Kennedy of Pink Hill; four sisters, Evelyn Atkinson of Kenansville, Irene Blizzard of Pink Hill, Margaret Tiedemann of Beaufort, S.C., and Mildred Whaley of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight.
