WARSAW -- Arlester "Pop" Powell, 61, of 413 S. Center St., Warsaw, died Sunday at the SunBridge Nursing Center in Mount Olive.
The funeral service was held Saturday at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Burnice Hodges officiated. Burial followed in the Carver Memorial Park.
He was the son of the late Burnice and Elnora Bowden Powell.
He is survived by four sisters, Joyce Ann Faison of Mount Olive, Delores Hodges of Warsaw, Susanna Hicks of Raleigh, and Annie Bannerman of Warsaw.
A viewing was held Friday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of the Rev. Burnice and Delores Hodges, 413 S. Center Street, Warsaw.
The funeral procession lined up one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at the home of Joyce A. Faison at 115 Elizabeth St. in Mount Olive.
The family is being served by Garris Funeral Home of Mount Olive.
