BERNICE WILLIAMS
Bernice Williams died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, in Miami, Fla.
The funeral was held Saturday Feb. 11, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Brownsville in Miami. Her oldest child, Pastor Haywood Williams, officiated.
Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Pikeville to the late Gerti Mae Segars and John Wesley Williams. She attended Elm Grove Disciples of Christ in Pikeville. She later moved to Miami, Fla., where she met her husband, L.B. Bell, who preceded her in death.
She worked as a unit secretary at St. Francis Hospital for 23 years before retiring in 1994. In 1998, she relocated back to North Carolina.
She is survived by her eight children, Pastor Haywood Williams (Eddy Jean) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Alan-Ray Forbes and Bernetta G. Forbes of Louisville, Ky., Pamela R. Mitts and Terry Williams of Goldsboro, Randy Williams of Atlanta, Ga., Valerie J. Bell and Tracey L. Bell of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Beatrice Williams and Bertha Mae Best of Durham; one uncle, Bennie Segars Sr. of Durham; 21 grandchildren, Attilah (Sylvester), Nishan, Demani Sr. (Kenisha), Robert, Nykole, Terry Jr., Ashley, Gail, Christopher, Mark, Daniel, Glenisha, Tiffany, Haywood Jr., Kevin Anthony, Deanna, Kevin, David, Stevie, Tyronn and Tyquan; 12 great-grandchildren, LaShada, Jah'leel, Jaiydne, Jamere, Jawan, Naliyah, Demani Jr., Dijon, Devon, Destiny, Demonsha, Ashtun.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Poitier Funeral Home, 2321 N.W. 62nd St., Miami, Fla., 33147.
