Willie Johnson, 74, of 427 Vann St., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Headquarters Building on Slocumb Street. The Rev. Antonio Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Willie Johnson Sr. and Nona Hodges Johnson Slocumb. He was a 1951 graduate of Carver High School and was employed at O'Berry Center for many years before becoming self-employed. He was a faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Dudley.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Johnson of the home; one son, Willie C. Johnson of Goldsboro; one daughter, Beverly M. Roberson of Columbus, Ga.; one brother, Charles S. Johnson of Raleigh; five sisters, Fannie M. Wynn of Dudley, Margaret R. Sallee of Portsmouth, Va., Cleo L. Bowden of Mount Olive, Mary B. Moore of Washington, D.C., and Peggy J. Fennell of Pawling, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 7 on Wednesday at Rhodes Funeral Home and the family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m.
