Edith Grey Thomas Batten, 86, died Wednesday at the Guardian Care in Zebulon.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Micro First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Stevens officiating. Entombment will be in Batten family cemetery.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Valton Ross "V.R." and Minnie Jones Thomas and was the widow of Thurman Pleasant Batten. She was a member of the Micro First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Frank T. Batten of Wilson; three daughters, Scottie Peele and Jane Coor of Micro and Kathy Parrish of Selma; one sister, Gladys Thomas Moore of Selma; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Thurman Ross "Sonny" Batten.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
