MARY L. LANE

The funeral for Mary L. Lane was held today at 11 a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church of Christ. The Rev. Dwight Cannon officiated. Burial was in Elm-wood Ceme-tery.
Ms. Lane was a 1953 graduate of Dillard High School and a 1957 graduate of North Carolina Central University. She retired from Delaware State University, was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, and was active in several professional and civic organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Louella Lane, and one sister and two brothers.
Her survivors include one son, Eric C. Lane of Goldsboro; three sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Philadelphia, Marian Jones of Temple Hills, Md., and Janice Sharp of Humboldt, Tenn; one brother, Charles Lane of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family greeted friends at the viewing on Tuesday night at Rhodes Funeral Home, and at other times at 1107 N. James St.
