CLYDE ERWIN III

Clyde "Chip" Atkinson Erwin III, 48, of 313 Glen Oak Drive, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Erwin was born in Durham and was the son of Dr. Clyde A. Erwin Jr. and Emily Castelloe Erwin of Goldsboro. He served in the United States Navy as a chief petty officer, attended the Naval Underwater Medical Institute, and had worked in construction.
A private graveside service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park and a memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Rev. Thurman Horney will officiate.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Erwin is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Rachael Erwin, one son, Joshua Daniel Erwin; four sisters, Cindy Erwin Keller and husband John of Goldsboro, Cheri Erwin Williford and husband Lyn of Goldsboro and Stacy Erwin Blahove and husband Mark of Savannah, Ga.; two nieces, Cassie Gardiner and Maria Blahove; one nephew, Alexander Williford; and an aunt, Frances Erwin Withers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wayne County Animal Control (New Animal Shelter), P. O. Box 227, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533; or the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Clyde A. Erwin Jr. at 313 Glen Oak Drive.
