Sarah Margaret Newberry, 67, of 115 Country Run Lane, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Horace Modlin will officiate.
Mrs. Newberry was a native of Cumberland County and was the daughter of the late John and Lila Hardison McLain. She was a member of the Bojangles Community in Mar Mac.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Newberry Jr.; two sons, Lt. Col. Joseph Newberry III of Arlington, Va., and Douglas Lee Newberry of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home following the graveside service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be directed to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 1407, Greenville, N.C., 27835.
