FAISON -- The funeral for Macon R. Kornegay, 70, of 108 Hicks Lane, Apt. 5-D, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hill's Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Harrington officiating. Burial will be in the Cobbs Cemetery.
Mr. Korengay died Saturday at Glencare Nursing Center.
He was the son of the late Rubert and Lula Sutton Kornegay and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Kornegay; four sons, Macon E. Kornegay of Fayetteville, Edward Kornegay of Georgia, Alexander Swinson of Baltimore, Md., and Roger Walls of Wallace; two daughters, Darlene Mateo of Lacey, Wash., and Gloria Duffrin of Yelm, Wash.; three brothers, James Kornegay and Rubert Kornegay Jr. of Auburn, N.Y.; one sister, Mary King of Decatur, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 7 today at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
