VIRGINIA BARGOIL
Virginia Jones Bargoil died peacefully January 11, 2006 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home.
She was the secnd child born to the late Ethel Holmes Jones and Herman David Jones Sr. on September 12, 1925 in Winston Salem.
She is preceded by her loving husband of 47 years, William J. Bargoil Jr. (Jim); a son, Mark S. Bargoil and sister, Ruby J. Enscore.
She is survived by five children, William J. Bargoil III and wife, Peggy of Big Clifty, Ky., David W. Bargoil and wife, Cindy of Goldsboro, Richard G. Bargoil and wife, Sherry of Charlotte, Sandra B. Borders and husband, Ron of Denver, and C. Scott Bargoil and wife, Tracey of Wendell; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman D. Bargoil Jr.; friend, Vivian of Murrell's Inlet, S.C., and many nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Gray High School in Winston Salem. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Her life centered on the family and many weekends were enjoyed with backyard barbeques, vacations camping at the beach, playing bridge with friends and fishing on her and Jim's boat off Harker's Island. After Jim's death in 1993, she moved to Denver to live with her daughter's family. She was soon diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Although mother's memory slowly departed over the years, she continued to enjoy music and dancing.
While living in Denver, mother attended Denver Baptist Church and had her faith nurtured by her friends there and her supportive son-in-law, Ron Borders. She resided at Concord Place's Discovery Program for the last four years. The family wishes to thank the many dedicated care givers who became our extended family and who mom often told "I love you"
A celebration of life will be held on January 21 at 4 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro. Pastor Jim Whitfield will officiate. The family will gather with friends in the sanctuary following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local Alzheimer's Association. Also please find time to visit the many seniors residing in assisted living and nursing homes who find get joy from a simple visit, letting them know that someone still cares.
