DWIGHT DAVIS
SNOW HILL -- Elbert Dwight Davis, 49, passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at his home.
Dwight was a native of Greene County, born March 29, 1956, to the late, Elbert Clinton and Mildred Kearney Davis. He was co-owner of Tarheel Erectors, a company that specialized in glass construction.
An avid horseman, Dwight enjoyed riding and had participated in many trail rides throughout North Carolina, where he formed many lasting friendships.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. The Reverends Chuck Owens and Alvin Keener will officiate. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Clinton Davis in September of 2000 and Mildred Kearney Davis in November of 2005.
His surviving family includes his sister, Cindy Davis Norville and husband, Curtis; a special friend, Marsha Hart of LaGrange; honorary children, Brianna Rhodes and Jason Rhodes; honorary grandchildren, Tristan Rhodes and Jaelyn Rhodes; nieces and nephews, Bryan Christman, Curt Norville and Bliss Norville; and several special aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 1222 Davis Road, Snow Hill.
