George "Tookie" Bryant, 48, of 759 W. Oak St., died Saturday.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. Bishop Alton Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Bryant was a 1975 graduate of Goldsboro High School. He was a helpful and caring member of his community and was especially sensitive to the needs of senior citizens.
He is survived by his mother, Etta Newkirk Bryant of Goldsboro; his father, George O. Bryant of Goldsboro; four sons, Montral Atkinson of Goldsboro, Ryan Jones and Michael Jones of Greensboro and Evander Rivers of Dudley; one brother, Andrew Bryant of Thomasville; five sisters, Faye Dean Murphy of Alexandria, Va., Faye Bryant, Louvenia Bryant and Patricia Williams of Goldsboro and Karen Bryant Jones of Pikeville; and two grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 7 today at Rhodes Funeral Home.
