BENJAMIN SMITH
The funeral for Benjamin Calvin Cooley Smith is scheduled for Wednesday. January 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Holly Hill Church, Best Station. The burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery, Goldsboro. Bishop James P. Swinson will deliver the eulogy.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two sons; Mr. Walter Lee Smith and Rev. J.B. Smith.
Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mrs. Rosa Mae Uzzell Smith of LaGrange; two sons; Mr. Matthew L. Smith of LaGrange, N.C., and Mr. Benjamin Smith Jr., also of LaGrange, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Smith Moses of the home and Mrs. Theresa H. Smith of Goldsboro, N.C.; nineteen grandchildren, which include Ms. Irene Moses, his devoted and personal caretaker during his sickness; twenty-five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McIntrye Funeral Home, 900 S. George Street,Goldsboro.
