Evelyn Miller Strickland, 66, of 116 N. Marion Drive, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mrs. Strickland was born in Norfolk, Va., on February 2, 1939 to the late Mahlon S. Miller and Esther Leake Miller. She was a graduate of the University of the Phillipines. Mrs. Strickland was an active member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. will be presiding. Burial will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband, Donald Strickland; four children, Ben Strickland and wife, Nadine of Greenville, Kit Strickland and wife, Petra of Cary, Kathryn Tawes and husband, Andrew of Cape Hatteras and Diana Strickland of Cary; and nine grandchildren.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
A wake service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service, and at other times, will be at the residence.
