WARSAW -- James Corbett "Jimmie" Godbold, 68, died Tuesday at WakeMed in Raleigh.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Community Funeral Home in Warsaw. The Rev. Robert Bandy will officiate. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held Friday morning at 11 at the Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
Mr. Godbold was the son of Elizabeth Boney Godbold and the late Charles Lee Godbold. He was a retired United States Navy veteran and was a member of Unity United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Godbold of the home; two sons, James Wesley "Jimmie" Godbold and his wife, Donna, of Beulaville and Andrew Corbett "Andy" Godbold and his wife, Amanda, of Magnolia; three daughters, Debra Godbold Volger and husband, Thomas, of Chesapeake, Va., Joyce Ann Godbold of Virginia Beach, Va., and Teresa Godbold Torralva and husband, Robert, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Robert Joe Godbold of Warsaw; three sisters, Ann Godbold Freed of Florida, Sue Godbold Rabon of Cape Carteret and Ellen Godbold Bland of Virginia; and eight grandchildren, Alex Vogler, Wesley Vogler, Jackson Godbold, Adam Lee Godbold, Lorenzo Torralva, Antonio Torralva, Brooklynne Godbold and Brianna Godbold.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Boney "Shark" Godbold and John Roberson "Johnny" Godbold.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Thursday night, and at other times at the residence on Penny Branch Road, Warsaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unity United Methodist Church.
