HAROLD SUTTON

MOUNT OLIVE -- Ivey Harold Sutton, 78 , of 454 Carter-Thigpen Road in the Scott's Store community, died Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Albertson Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, conducted by Bishop Jimmy Herring. Interment will be in the Thigpen Family Cemetery, near the residence.
Mr. Sutton was a United States Army veteran and was a retired mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed playing bluegrass and country music.
Survivors include by his wife of 57 years, Annie Lois "Dina" Thigpen Sutton of the home; two sons, Donald Becton Sutton and wife, Jill, of Mount Olive and Thomas Harold Sutton and wife, Ketia, of Goldsboro; a brother, Ross Sutton of Goldsboro; a sister, Mamie Edna S. West of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Thomas Harold Sutton Jr., Jennie Sutton Hill and Regina Sutton Grantham; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Hill and Victoria Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Becton Sutton and Patience Ethel Sutton; a daughter, Regina Lois Sutton; a grandson, Daniel Becton Sutton; brothers, Virgil Sutton, Bill Sutton, Thomas Allen Sutton; and sisters, Laura Sutton, Ethel Outlaw, Pat Hardison and Aline Fields.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at Tyndall Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Carolina.
