NEWTON GROVE -- Trudie Mae Bass, 88, of 3104 Dudley Road, died Friday.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, Newton Grove. The Rev. Jim Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Clinton.
She is survived by one daughter, Helen Bass Pilkington of Grifton; two sons, John E. Bass of Roanoke Rapids, and James Merle Bass of Newton Grove; four brothers, Ollin Denning of Goldsboro, J.D. Denning of Lexington, Glen Denning of Newton Grove and Charlie Denning of Dunn; two sisters, Mary Williford of Newton Grove and Nelma "Nell" Best-Stephenson of Raleigh; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hubert Bass; one son, Charles Bass; one grandson; and four brothers, Irdell, Felton, Rudolph and Howard Denning.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. At other times, they will be at Rolling Ridge with her son, James Merle Bass.
