PAT M. MERRITT
Died Dec. 20, 2005
HILLSBOROUGH -- Pettie Lou "Pat" McCormick Merritt, 74, of 7217 Dodson Crossroads, died Tuesday at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Merritt was born in Robeson County to the late Mendal and Lucille Barfield Byrd. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lenwood "Mac" McCormick. She retired from Kennedy Home where she worked as a cottage parent and was a former greeter at Wal-Mart.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Kinston, with the Rev. David Woodhouse officiating.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by her husband, Billy Merritt; three children, Mary Lynn Rivenbark and husband, Jimmy, of Watha, William Lenwood "Mack" McCormick and wife, Viviane, of Raleigh and Debbie Caulder and husband, Gary, of LaGrange; and three sisters, Dot Walters of Hickory, Alice Rhodes of Kinston and Beth Hardin of Evergreen; brother, Hicks Byrd of Orrum; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Caulder, 3669 Bonnie Walters Road, La Grange.
