Ann S. Early, 66, of Jekyll Island, Ga., died Saturday, Dec. 3, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
A native of Smithfield, Mrs. Early had made her home on Jekyll Island for the past 11 years. She previously lived in Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Early was a member of the Jekyll Island Garden Club, the Jekyll Island Ladies League and First Baptist Church in Brunswick, Ga., where she sang in the choir. Also, she was a volunteer at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick.
The funeral was held today at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Brunswick, Ga. The Rev. Tim Nobles officiated. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery in Smithfield.
Mrs. Earley is survived by her husband, Virgil Early; a daughter, Ashley Udell of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a son, Al V. Early of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, C.A. Stallings Jr. of Selma and Barry Stallings of Wilmington; two aunts, Mrs. James L "Jimmy" (Viva ) Creech of Smithfield and Mrs. Wilber L. (Frances) Creech of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
