Elnora R. Ivey, 76, of the Summerlin Crossroads community, died Friday at her home.
She was a retired bookkeeper with Cape Fear Farm Credit Association of Kenansville after 28 years service. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was past church treasurer, and president of the Women's Society of Christian Service (UMW).
She was an avid gardener, cook, and homemaker. Her famous pound cake and Christmas fruitcake graced many a table and many treasured her pecan crisp cookies.
A funeral service will be held 5 p.m. today in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Reverends Mark Stephens and Lynwood Boyette officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Swinson-Ivey family cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, C.C. Ivey Jr.; two sons, Charles C. Ivey and G. Rouse Ivey and wife, Cindy, of Mount Olive; one daughter, Cathy I. Fonvielle and husband, John, of Mount Olive; two brothers, C.C. Rouse and wife, Phyllis, of Kenansville, and Vernon Rouse and wife, Helen, of Rose Hill; one sister, Mary Lee R. Phillips and husband, Curtis, of Clayton; five grandchildren, Jonathan Fonvielle and wife, Amanda, of Clarkton, Thomas Fonvielle, John Daniel Ivey and fiance, Rebekah Hroza, Abbie C. Ivey, and Julie R. Ivey of Mount Olive; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Ivey Fonvielle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Holmes Rouse Sr. and Mary Ward Rouse; and siblings, Leslie H. Rouse Jr., Doane Rouse, Ward Rouse and Polly R. Smith.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to Carolina East Home Care & Hospice, P. O. Box 887, Kenansville, N.C., 28349.
