PINK HILL -- Etta Kennon, 94, of Smyrna, Ga., formerly of Pink Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 19, in Georgia.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday from the New Salem Chapel FWB Church. Bishop Stephen Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in the Branch Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, John C. Kennon of Pink Hill and Raymond Kornegay of Hartford, Conn; three daughters, Erma Miller of Bloomfield, Conn., and Catherine Wilson of Smyrna, Ga.; two sisters, Eliza Rasberry and Callie Whitfield of Kinston; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held today from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel, and one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
The family will receive friends at the home of John C. Kennon, 1548 Kitty Noecker Road, Pink Hill.
