John Allen Farfour, 88, of 105 S. Randolph Street, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hopice Center.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late George Farfour and Freida Hakim Farfour. He was owner of John Allen Sports, formerly Music & Sports, for 60 years. He retired from the United States Air Force as a lieutenant colonel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Norris, O.S.F.S. officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Farfour is survived by his wife, Grace Howe1l Farfour; his daughter, Lilli Farfour Wood, and her husband, Jeffery; and his sons, John Allen Farfour Jr. of Wilmington and Kenneth Farfour and wife Susan of Winterville; his brother, Edmund Farfour of Goldsboro; and a sister, Agnes Harris of Goldsboro.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534; or The Brian Center of Goldsboro, 1700 Wayne Memorial Drive, N.C., 27534.
The rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel and the family will receive friends there from 7 until 9 on Tuesday night.
