Irene "Tennie" Ballree Barber, 59, of 774 Old Grantham Road, died Sunday.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Emmett Ballree of Goldsboro and Ella Irene McDaniel of Chesa-peake Beach, Md. She was the wife of the late James "Rudy" Barber and sister of the late Emmett Eugene Ballree.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Heath, the Rev. Chad Smith and the Rev. Joshua Smith officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy Barber of Dudley, Trina Conley of Goldsboro and Jaime and Ben Gibson of Goldsboro; three brothers, Douglas Hyatt, Robert Williams and Emmett Ballree, all of Mount Olive; eight sisters, Brenda Grimes, Peggy Pelt and Marie Scott
of Goldsboro, Phyllis Gur-gainous and Paulette Powell of Mount Olive, Patricia Barnett of Daytona Beach, Fla., Charlotte Nicholson of Lothan, Md., Carole Modlin of Chesapeake Beach, Md.; and four grandchildren, Tenna Conley, Bill Travis Jr., Rayce Gibson and Rileigh Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Shirley Ballree.
Family members will greet friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
