The funeral for William Nelson, 81, will be held Saturday at noon at the First African Baptist Church. The Rev. Louis Leigh will officiate.
Mr. Nelson died Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie Nelson of the home; three cousins, Harry Evans and Katie Macks of Jacksonville, Fla.., and Henry Harrison of New York, N.Y.; and one goddaughter, Vanjill Williams of Goldsboro.
The viewing will be at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
The family will receive friends at the residence at 319 Miller Avenue.
Hamilton Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
