David Clifton Forrest, age 70, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
"He fought the good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7
The funeral will be held today, Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. David Jackson and the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield will officiate. Interment will be Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro.
Mr. Forrest was born on March 7, 1935, and was the son of the late Joseph Clifton Forrest and Ruby Southerland Forrest. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He worked for ten years as the Business Manager for the former Goldsboro Christian School and served four years in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Forrest is survived by his wife, Blonnie Howell Forrest; a son, Ashley Clifton "Cliff" Forrest, and wife, Terri, of Goldsboro; one brother, Douglas Craig Forrest, and wife, Wanda, of Cullowhee, N.C.; and two grandchildren Ashley Clifton Forrest II and Austin Craig Forrest.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. Raymond Forrest, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Southerland who raised him.
The family will receive friends at Howell Funeral Home following the funeral service tonight, and other times at the home of Cliff and Terri Forrest, 221 Lane Tree Drive, Goldsboro.
