Richard Fetner Daughtry Sr., 89, a resident of The Pines, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Harvin officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mr. Daughtry was born in Wayne County to the late Emmett Hall Daughtry and Helen Ophelia Earp Daughtry. He was devoted to his wife of 63 years, Fannie Barwick Daughtry, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2003. Mr. Daughtry retired from Kemp Furniture with 33 years of service and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite in Wilmington.
He is survived by one son, Richard F. Daughtry Jr., and his wife, Bennie, of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Ann D. Crawford, and her husband, Russell, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Richard F. "Trey" Daughtry III and wife Amy of Killen, Texas, Emily R. Daughtry of Richmond, Va., Beth A. Rivenbark of Clayton and Jessica L. Rivenbark of Goldsboro; and one sister, Eunice D. Grice, of Goldsboro.
Mr. Daughtry was preceded in death by two brothers, James F. Daughtry and Emmett E. Daughtry.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at his daughter's home at 312 Handley Place, Goldsboro.
