The funeral for Robert Lawrence Mitchell, 62, 402 Park Avenue, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m.. at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel. Apostle D.L. McIntyre will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Lenora Mitchell of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Nicolson and Wanda Gervin; five brothers, Thomas Mitchell of Fayetteville and James Mitchell, Willie Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, all of Red Springs; two sisters, Ola Lee Campbell and Sarah Jackson of Red Springs; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
The viewing hours will be from 1 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday at McIntyre Funeral Home, and the family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m. to receive friends.
MARGARET SUTTON
Died Sept. 25, 2005
CLINTON -- Margaret Wiggins Sutton, 86, died Sunday.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church on Smith Street.
Born in 1919 in Wayne County, Mrs. Sutton was the daughter of the late Johnnie Edward and Eva Price Wiggins. She was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church, serving in nearly every elected capacity, including chair of the Council on Ministries, church treasurer and president of the United Methodist Women and Delegate to the North Carolina Annual Conference.
She helped to establish the Sampson County Hospice Program and was a volunteer tax counselor for senior citizens through the AARP. She retired from the Sampson County Department of Human Resources and in 1980 was named the Sampson County Employee of the Year.
Mrs. Sutton has continued her life of service by having her body donated to the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland "Tom" Sutton, and is survived by one daughter: Phyllis O'Keef of Raleigh; five sisters, Charity Cannavo of West Bend, Wisc., Gretchel Moore and Eva Louise Feurer, both of Goldsboro, Carolyn Faye Whitfield of Dudley and Gail Rogers of Dunn; one brother, Johnny Wiggins of Mount Olive; and two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Wade Wiggins and Nelson Wiggins; and a sister, Anna Dean Bohart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church 800 Smith St., Clinton, N.C., 28328.
Royal-Hall Funeral Home in Clinton is serving the family.
