LINDA ROBERTS

Linda Faye Loftin Roberts died Sept. 6 at her oldest sons home in Charlottesville, Va.
Born May 12, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Adele Johnson Loftin. She attended Goldsboro city schools. After moving to New York, she attended Burroughs-Manhat-tan City College. She also attended City College of New York, where she earned a Degree in Business and Finance.
She was employed by the Chemical Bank of Long Island and also by the New York Postal Department, where she managed the Bronx Sub Station until a job-related back injury forced her to stop.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lula Johnson; her mother, Adele Johnson Loftin; three brothers, Floyd K. Loftin, John Campbell, and George R. Loftin.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Roberts of the home; three sons, John E. St. Germain II of Charlottesville, Va., Paul L. Roberts of the home, and Bruce Roberts of the home; seven daughters, Ebony and Jalisa Roberts of the home, Detria Melrose, Lillian Gil, Alvita Roberts-Glen, Paula R. Jackson and Valerie R. Hutchinson; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret L. Cherry of Goldsboro; three brothers, Michael L. Loftin of New York, N.Y., James R. Loftin of Goldsboro, and Harry C. Loftin of Durham; one aunt of Goldsboro.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery. The body can be viewed today from 2 until 8 p.m. A visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will line up at 2 p.m. at 1102 N. George St.
