J. James McClenny, 88, a resident of the Pines, died Monday at the Brian Center.
A private graveside ser-vice will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Thurman Horney officiating.
Mr. McClenny was born in Wayne County on March 6, 1917 to the late John Anders McClenny and Maggie Bartlett McClenny. Mr. McClenny was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Wayne Lodge #112 A.F.&A.M. He was a charter member of the Golden "K" Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 671/2 years, Alyce McClenny; his daughter, Gayle Elmore, and her husband, Vernon, of Durham; his sons, John W. "Bill" McClenny and wife Pat of Burns, Tenn., and Andy McClenny of New Bern, who was preceded in death by his wife, Diane McClenny; his sister, Helen Anderson of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchild.
The McClenny Family requests no flowers.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
