CAROLYN L. BARTLETT

Carolyn Lassiter Bartlett, 75, of 209 Cashwell Drive, passed away peacefully Monday August 1, 2005, surrounded by her loving family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center following a six-month, courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Bartlett was a native of Wayne County, a 1947 graduate of Goldsboro High School, and a member of First Christian Church. She married Oz Bartlett on July 28, 1951, and they recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke and Rev. Dr. Penny Ziemer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the residence. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Carl Bartlett in 1998.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Luther Osborne "Oz" Bartlett of the home; her son, Gary Osborne and his wife, Mary, of Goldsboro; her daughter, Lynn Bartlett Bonti and her husband, Paul, of Crystal Lake, Illinois; her sisters, Mrs. Dot McKemie of Goldsboro and Mrs. Camilla Sutton of Newton; her grandchildren: Will Bartlett, Brian Bonti, Gregg Bonti, Karyn Schock, and Julia Sherwood; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the following: Dr. Ernest Marshall and staff at SMOC; the 7th floor staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital and the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center all for their compassionate care for Mrs. Bartlett.
