Mattie Brown Stone, 81, of 3133 Old Smithfield Hwy., died Saturday at her residence.
A native of Wayne Coun-ty, she was the daughter of the late Anson and Lizzie Evans Brown and was the wid-ow of William Stone.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Pastor Joseph Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Deans Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Young and husband, Dwight of Princeton, Deborah Williford and husband, Lathan of Seven Springs; two sons, Charles Stone of the home, Travis Stone and wife, Danette of Burghill, Ohio; two sisters, Bobbie Gray of Goldsboro, Rose Wallace of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruby Holland and Essie Stone; one son, Richard Stone; four sisters, Bessie Baker, Hazel Ham, Earldene Tatison, Willie Mae Gurley; her brother, Grover Brown, and seven grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome, though memorials may be made to Home Health & Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will was to receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service today, and at other times at the residence.
