Essie Atkinson Jackson, 87, formerly of Goldsboro, died Monday, July 25, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
The funeral was to be held today at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial was to be in Old Mill Cemetery.
The viewing was held on Sunday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The family was present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m., and at other times at the home of Sharon Worrell, 106 BJ Drive.
