JACKSONVILLE -- Miriam Ann Dabney Jones, 65, of 1007 Schall Drive, Jacksonville, formerly of Goldsboro, died Monday at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

A native of Camden, S.C., she was the daughter of Ruth Dixon Dabney of Camden and the late Elihu F. Dabney.

Mrs. Jones owned an Allstate Insurance Agency in Goldsboro for over 20 years and was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and was the recipient of the Order of the Rose and the Silver Circle. Mrs. Jones was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a former member of the American Business Women's Association.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Huffman officiating. Also, funeral services and burial will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Camden, S.C.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Jones is survived by one daughter, Kathy Hurd, and her husband, Michael, of Jacksonville; one grandson, Dylan Hurd; one stepdaughter, Ingrid Jones, and her husband, Robert, of Kenly; her former husband and special friend, Greg Jones of Goldsboro; three sisters, Doris D. Vinson and husband, Floyd, of Camden, S.C,. Marie D. Crosby of Lugoff, S.C., and Elaine D. Cassady of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Donald Dabney, and his wife, Jean, of Camden, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Kenneth King.

Memorial donations may be made to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2803 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and also on Wednesday evening at Kornegay Funeral Home in Camden, SC.
