Laster Groomes "Lack" Ballance, 80, of 1200 Old Grantham Road, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Hamm and the Rev. Donald Massey officiating. Interment will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Ballance was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Amos and Nettie Overman Ballance. He retired from Goldsboro Tire Company and was a member of the Pentecostal Christian Assembly.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Head Ballance; one daughter, Betty Jane Strickland, and her husband, Marvin Ray, of Goldsboro; three sons, Randy Ballance of Pikeville, Jerry Ballance of Greenville, and Ricky Ballance of Goldsboro; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home following the service on Wednesday, and other times at the residence.
