LISSIE PENUEL
SWANSBORO -- Lissie Fail Penuel, 81, died Tuesday.
She was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Willie and Bessie Fail. She lived in Grifton for several years and attended Grifton First Baptist Church before moving to Swansboro.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Penuel Sr.; two sons; one daughter; one sister, Christine Hobbs of Wilmington; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Farmer Funeral Home. The Rev. Leon Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Estates.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8:30 at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden, and other times at the home of Mike and Jeannie Cleaton in Ayden.
