WILLIAM EDGAR POWELL SR.
William Edgar "Bill" Powell Sr., 66, died Friday at his home.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Herman Paul Powell Sr. and Nell Elizabeth Parrish Powell. Mr. Powell was a longtime member of the Star Light Dance Band and served on the vestry at St. Francis Episcopal Church.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Albert O. Vannorsball officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Norma Heuser Powell; a son William Edgar Powell Jr. and wife, Chassity, of Kinston; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Powell of Bellevue, Wash.; a granddaughter, Annabelle Powell; a grandson, Noah Powell; a brother, Herman Paul Powell Jr. and wife, Betsy, of Goldsboro and two nephews, Herman Paul Powell III and David H. Powell.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 503 Forest Hill Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
