DAVID A. STEVENS
BEULAVILLE -- David Addison Stevens, 56, of Beulaville, formerly of Grantham, died Wednesday afternoon.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hallsville Presbyterian Church in Beulaville. Burial will be in the Bostic-Sandlin Cemetery in Beulaville.
Mr. Stevens was born in Wayne County and was the son of Frances Stevens of Goldsboro and the late George Bryan Stevens. He attended Wingate College and graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson with a degree in biology. He was employed as a truck driver with Mount Olive Pickle Company, had farmed, and was former postmaster of Beulaville. He was a member and elder at Hallsville Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Peggy S. Stevens of Beulaville; one son, David John Stevens, and his wife, Christie, of Fremont; one daughter, Tracy S. Bradley of Raleigh; one stepson, Shannon Whaley, and his wife, Jennifer, of Richlands; one stepdaughter, Amy Whaley Clark, and her husband, Bob, of Texas; his grandchildren, McKenna and Kailey Bradley and their father, Chris Bradley, and Lillie "Gracie" Whaley; one brother, Ed Stevens, and his wife, Cindy, of Goldsboro; four sisters, Sallie Stevens of Goldsboro, Carolyn S. Kornegay and her husband, Roger, of Goldsboro, Margaret S. Staley and her husband, James, of Fuquay-Varina, and Jessie S. Smith and her husband, Chris, of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Saturday night at Community Funeral Home in Beulaville. They will receive friends at other times at the home of Ed and Cindy Stevens on Old Grantham Road and at the residence in Beulaville.
