LAURA SMITH
PINK HILL -- Laura Nell Smith, 90, of 1832 North N.C. Hwy. 111, died Thursday at Duplin General Hospital.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The officiating ministers will be Dr. William Bland and Mrs. Geraldine Tucker.
Mrs. Smith was a lifelong member of Smith's Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Smith, and one son, Ray Franklin Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Alicia Smith of Pink Hill; one son, Lewis Garland Smith and wife Linda of Mount Olive; daughter-in-law, Sarah Smith and husband Gary; brother-in-law, Leo Sutton of Pink Hill; sister, Gladys Rhodes of Pink Hill; brother, Travis Smith of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Teresa Lanier, Tim Smith, Carlita Howard and Kevin Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Ashley and Reed Smith, Blayden Howard and Jennifer, Joseph and John Lanier.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Smith's Presbyterian Church, c/o Michael Smith, Treasurer, Panther Creek Road, Pink Hill, N.C., 28572.
Pink Hill Funeral Home is serving the family.
