ALTON SUTTON
LAGRANGE -- Alton Marcus Sutton, 93, of 3857 Pine Bush Road, died Tuesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Sutton was born in Lenoir County to the late Julian Marcus and Mary Ann Sutton. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Pinelawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Tosto officiating.
Mr. Sutton is survived by two daughters, Christine S. Gray of Kinston and Betsy S. Gray and husband Harper of LaGrange; one son, Charles M. Sutton and wife Sue of LaGrange; sister, Julia S. Suggs of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Neil Gray, Charlene G. Turner and husband Tony, A.H. Gray III and wife Terry, Lee Gray and wife Virginia, Mark Sutton and wife Angie, and Robbie Sutton; and eight great-grandchildren, Beth Gray, Jenna Sutton, Jeremy McLawhorn, Kelly Lanier, Christa Lanier, Courtney Worth, Zachary Turner and Trey Turner.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Sutton, 3837 Pine Bush Road, LaGrange.
