ELIZABETH CHRISTOPHER
Mrs. Elizabeth Parrish Christopher, 85, of 138 Vance Drive, died with her family at her side on Thursday afternoon at her home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Christopher was born in Brunswick County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Blick Parrish and Maude Catherine Thompson Parrish. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Atwell Parrish.
Mrs. Christopher is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Aaron Christopher. She leaves to cherish her memories, four children: two devoted sons, Gregg D. Abernathy and wife Deborah and Kevin P. Christopher and wife Pattie, all of Pikeville; two loving daughters, Bet A. Richardson and husband Vance of Jarratt, Va., and Kathy C. Hawkins and husband Ken of Goldsboro.
Also, seven special grandchildren, Dave Abernathy and wife Tracey and Elizabeth and Jennifer Christopher, all of Pikeville, Ann R. Tyus and husband Charles, David R. Richardson and wife Robin of Jarratt, Va., Lori R. Bradley and husband Ellery of Richmond, Va., and Scott McClees of Peletier, N.C.; four wonderful great-grandchildren, Chuck and Brock Tyus of Jarratt, Va., and Alex and Makayla McClees of Cape Peliter, N.C.; and a sister Anne Pitzinger of Chester, Va.; and special friends Danny and Betty Thibeaux.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. James Frasher and the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at her residence.
Elizabeth and Charles found a loving and supportive church family at Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Christopher's smile will be forever etched in our hearts. Even in death, she reminds us all that "Life is so fragile, Love is so sudden; Hearts are so broken, but HOPE is so eternal."
