COUNCIL DIXON JR.
WARSAW -- Council Dixon Jr., 61, of 185 Claude Scott Road, died Friday at Duplin General Hospital.
He was a native of Duplin County and was the son of the late Council and Edna Southernland Dixon. He was a self-employed carpenter.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Luke United Holy Church, where he was a member and served as a deacon. Elder Anthony Flow will officiate. Burial will be in the Southernland Cemetery, Kenansville.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Helen Battle Dixon of the home; two daughters, April Dixon and Montrina McCoy of Fayetteville; two sons, Anthony Dixon of the home and Marcus Dixon of Dudley; one brother, Charles Dixon of Rose Hill; three sisters, Beatrice Dixon, Edna Whitfield and Nevada Hobbs of Kenansville; and two grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Rhodes Funeral Home in Warsaw, and the family will be present from 7 until 8 to greet friends.
