HALL MCIVER
KENANSVILLE -- Hall "Sonny Boy" McIver, 79, of 242 Sarecta Road, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Duplin County to the late Hall and Rebecca McIver. He attended the Duplin County public school system. He joined the Marine Corp. at the age of 18. After serving his country, he worked at Bakery Taste Bread Company in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of Pearsall Chapel Holiness Church in Kenansville.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pearsall Chapel Holiness Church. The Rev. Holt will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Mary Shaw McIver of the home; four sons, William McIver of Kinston, Gregory McIver of New York, Duane Brown of the home, and Ray F. McIver of Philadelphia, Pa.; one daughter, Rachell McClinton of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Bryant McIver of Warsaw; four sisters, Louella Manago of Charlotte, Effie McCloud of Durham, Betty Best of Kenansville, and Geraldine Humphrey of Kenansville.
A viewing will be held today from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Rhodes Funeral Chapel in Warsaw. The funeral procession will assemble at the residence, 242 Sarecta Road, at 1:30 p.m.
