ROSA YELVERTON
Rosa Johnson Yelverton, 93, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Yelverton was born in Wayne County to the late Ernest and Adia Johnson and was married to the late Cecil Yelverton. She was a homemaker, was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, and had worked at Goldsboro Tobacco Factory.
She is survived by her children, Edgar Yelverton Sr. of Goldsboro, Lesile Yelverton of Goldsboro, Gaynell Uzzell of Goldsboro, Eugene Yelverton of Pikeville, and LySander Uzzell of New Jersey; and 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Her body will lie in state at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Friday from 2 until 8 p.m., and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Lesile Yelverton, 1223 S. Andrews Ave., Goldsboro.
